What Would You Do?

Palliser Furniture Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team and fill the role of Accounts Payable Clerk.

This individual will be responsible for the entering in supplier invoices in a timely manner to ensure prompt payment. They will update financial statements accurately capture the expenses for the period. This role will also provide administrative support for the Palliser Furniture finance team.

Primary duties and responsibilities of this position are outlined below:

Accounts Payable

Timely and accurate entry of supplier invoices into AS400.
Proper use of the 3-way match system, ensuring that all invoices with purchase orders are 3-way matched.
Following up with the purchasing group to ensure that issues with invoices or purchase orders are rectified in a timely fashion.
Work with suppliers directly to rectify issues with payments or invoices.
Reconcile statements provided by vendors to internal records.
Work with the receiving group to ensure that purchase order receiving’s are entered, and finance notified in a timely manner.
Work with various managers and supervisors to ensure appropriate approvals are received for invoices.
Prepare month end accounts payable accruals.
Complete intercompany invoicing for various activities.
Track and report on a variety of expenses as required.
Administration

Provide back up for other accounts payable team members.
Assist in providing AP and Finance information to the auditors.
Assist with month-end tasks as required.
Other duties as assigned.
What Do You Bring?

3 years accounts payable experience in a computerized environment.
Post-secondary education in an accounting or business administration considered an asset.
Proven accuracy of data entry and coding of invoices.
Strong organizational skills, math skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Excel and Access.
Experience working in AS400 is considered an asset.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Professional communication skills, both oral and written.
Flexible and able to adapt to change in a positive manner.
